First Aid at Work (FAW) Training

Overview

The 3 day course is suitable for anyone who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at work. The course covers;

  • Aims of first aid
  • DRABC
  • Recovery Position
  • Asthma
  • Diabetic emergency
  • Shock
  • Stroke
  • Fractures and dislocations
  • Slings
  • Strains
  • Heart attack and Stroke
  • Head, Chest and Spinal Injuries
  • Management of first aid emergency situations
  • CPR, including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Control severe blood loss
  • Manage an unconscious casualty including seizures
  • Recognise the symptoms of a number of life threatening and non-life threatening conditions
